The cargo bay, when empty, is a big and echoing room, although ordinarily it is at least partially filled with the standard sized DreamStar storage crates. One wall is covered with large, sequentially numbered lockers for any personal goods ITG members might wish to store. The opposite wall also has several lockers in it, although by the stencils on them it can be seen that these are for equipment storage. Within are the small 'bots and space-cats used for ease of cargo transferal to and from ships and this room. All the surfaces not used for locker space are a well-used and oft-scuffed white. A plethora of wide, reinforced nylon strapping with heavy duty clasps is neatly coiled within storage recesses or stretched out to restrain the storage crates from sudden gravity changes. When in use, they clip evenly and tidily into the multiple, regularly spaced, recessed anchoring points on walls, floor, and ceiling. The floor has yellow painted lines clearly delineating the necessary space to keep clear for walkways, bulkhead doors, fire extinguishers, and escape pod hatches. Large cautionary signs and lights warn that the huge bay airlock framed in hazard tape leads out to cold vacuum and the ITG docking bay. |
