This is the web site of the Independent Trader's Guild. You will find both IC (in character) and OOC (out of character) commentary here, but there will also be a concerted effort to keep them intelligibly separated. And now, back to IC...
You are in the Business Arcade level on Dreamstar Station, in the Frontier sector of Furry Space. Stretching over 150 meters up, and close to a kilometer accross, the arcade is the largest open area on the station outside of the enviromental dome, higher even than the main hangars. In the exact center of the area, a wide piller containing the lift extends 10 meters up, ending in a fountain whose water escapes down the piller's landscaped sides. Surrounding this is a shallow pond, with several slender bridges reaching from the lift doors to the shore. Most of the floor is paved in stone, forming a mosaic starmap of the local region, though it is obscured in many places by several large gardens, and what looks like a small forest in one area. The designers seem to have gone to a lot of effort to avoid the feeling of being inside a station. The area is lit by a bright golden glow from the ceiling, pleasantly warming the air on the station's 'day' cycle. The arcade is busy, almost packed in places as residents and sightseers visit the shops and various open-air cafes around the lake. Up on one wall is a directory of the local businesses on the Arcade... let's see, there's the 'Fin de Partie Pub and Grill,' 'Prime Investigations,' the offices of 'RadiKS,' the 'Djxep Embassy,' the offices of the 'FurrySpace News' and of 'Outpost Pharmaceuticals'... ah, and your destination -- the offices of the 'Independent Traders Guild.' You glance around, seeking your goal. Off to one side you see an old fashioned looking little restaurant, called the 'Fin de Partie Pub and Grill.' The mostly wooden facade of the restaurant is set neatly, tall and narrow, into the steel wall of the arcade, trimmed in green and gold paint. A small balcony extends from the upper floor, overlooking the arcade. A small brass sign above the door, decorated with a stylized muted post-horn, identifies it as the 'Fin de Partie Pub & Grill.' A narrow, wooden railed balcony pokes out from the facade of the pub, affording space for a number of small tables and rickety chairs so that patrons can enjoy the view of the rest of the Arcade. Occasionally you hear voices drifting down from above. It looks like a pleasant place to eat and people-watch. Next to the 'Fin de Partie' is your destination -- the ITG. The wide front entrances of the ITG offices show a small but comfortable lobby within. It is a relaxing mix of homey and high-tech, with multiple terminals, comfortable couches, and the occasional large potted plant visible within. The sign over the entranceway proudly proclaims this to be the offices of The Independent Traders Guild. |
Welcome. Please feel free to enter the ITG lobby. |
