1.16 Player Command Summary

Player Utility Commands:

+sheet: +sheet
Shows your character sheet.

+background: +background <player>, +bg <player>
Shows <player's> public background. <player> defaults to you.

+background #edit: +background #edit, follow prompts
Places you in a list editor to edit your backgrounds.

+info: +info [<category>/<dbase entry>]]
Displays information about a given database entry from the specified category. Either <dbase entry> or both [<category>/<dbase entry>]] may be omitted, in which case the system will put you at a prompt where you can display lists of categories and entries, or select and display specific entries.

+man: +man, follow prompts; or +man <topic>
Displays information from the online manual. Typing the command without arguments displays a complete list of available documents.

+list: +list <commands|skills|groups|templates|etc>
Displays a list of commands, skills, manual entries, etc., that are defined on your world. You may also type +list by itself, and then follow prompts for a list of categories.

+sysscan: +sysscan
Displays the current status of the system scanner, which controls housekeeping matters such as healing and object recycling.

+realm: +realm
Display the name of the realm you are currently in.


Character Generation Commands:

+advantages: +advantages, follow prompts
Selects advantages and their point value. Not available after character approval.

+disadvantages: +disadvantages, follow prompts
Selects disadvantages and their point value. Not available after character approval.

+finished: +finished, confirm
Declares character generation complete and lets you begin play. Not available on MUCKs requiring character approval.

+psiabs: +psiabs, follow prompts
Sets your level for a psionic ability.

+reset: +reset, confirm
Removes all your Argo properties and recycles any Argo objects you own.

+skills: +skills, follow prompts
Sets your level for a skill.

+spells: +spells, follow prompts
Sets your level for a spell.

+stats: +stats, follow prompts
Adjusts the level of your five basic Stats: STR, CON, DEX, INT, and PRE. Your Physical and Craft skills are figured from these.

+templates: +templates, follow prompts
Displays available character templates and allows you to select one or more of them.


Generic Role Playing Commands:

+cast: +cast <spell> vs|at|on <target>
Makes any necessary rolls against <spell> level, and any applicable defense rolls for your target, using materials and expendinding fatigue as needed. Applies coded effects if any, and displays the results to the room if appropriate.

+focus: +focus <psiab> vs|at|on <target>
Makes any necessary rolls against <psiab> level, and any applicable defense rolls for your target, expendinding fatigue as needed. Applies coded effects if any, and displays the results to the room if appropriate.

+prove:
+prove <ability> [vs <player>] [<player's ability>] [to <player/s>]
Shows your level for a Stat or skill in straight numerical form, relative to a number, or relative to another players, to the room or to a group.

+roll:
+roll <ability> [vs <player>] [<players ability>] [to <player/s>]
Rolls three six-sided dice against <ability>, displaying the result to the room or a group.

+roll (straight forms):
+roll <number>d<number> [at [+|-]] [to <player/s>]
+roll <percintile|perc> [to <player/s>]
Rolls <number> six-sided dice, displaying the result to the room or a group.

+use: +use <skill> vs|at|on <target>
Makes any necessary rolls against <skill> level, and any applicable defense rolls for your target, using materials and expendinding fatigue as needed. Applies coded effects if any, and displays the results to the room if appropriate.

Configures a verification string: a string that you set, known only to you, which is appened to Argo output generated by other players, or by delayed reponses to your own commands, so that you may be sure the information displayed is legitimate, and not the output of a spoof command.

+vote:

+vote <player>
Uses one of your weekly allotment of roleplaying votes to increase the experience points of <player>. Typing the command without an argument shows a summary of your own voting status.


Rumor and Reputation Commands:

+rumors: +rumors
Shows current rumors in any groups for which you have Influence.

+gossip: +gossip, follow prompts
Starts a new rumor on a successful Influence roll. (Once per rumor interval.)

+spread: +spread, follow prompts
Increases the authority and tenacity of a rumor on a successful Influence roll. (Once per rumor interval.)

+quash: +quash, follow prompts
Decreases the authority and tenacity of a rumor on a successful Influence roll. (Once per rumor interval.)

+trash: +trash, follow prompts
Lowers target players Influence within a selected group on a successful Influence roll. (Once per rumor interval.)

+boost: +boost, follow prompts
Increases target players Influence within a selected group on a successful Influence roll. (Once per rumor interval.)

+investigate: +investigate, follow prompts
Tells you who started a specific rumor on a successful Influence roll. (Once per rumor interval.)


Money Commands:

+banks:
+banks
+banks #will
Lists available banks and their branches. The #will option puts you at a prompt that lets you create a will.

+browse: +browse [<object>]
Displays objects for sale at your current location. If no object is specified, all available objects and their prices are listed. If an object is specified, a description of and the price for that object are shown.

+buy: +buy [<object>]
Purchases <object>, creating the object if necessary and transferring ownership and possesion to you. The cost is deducted from your funds. Typing +buy by itself lists items available for purchase at your current location.

+deposit: +deposit <number> <currency>
Deposits the specified amount in the bank. You must be at a bank location

+exchange:
+exchange
+exchange <denomination>
If <denomination> is the MUCK's large coin, converts one of your large coins to 100 small coins. If <denomination> is the MUCKs small coin, converts 100 of your small coins to one large coin.

+get: +get <object>
Gets a free object. This is essentially the same command as +buy, but is used for objects that have no cost. Typing +get by itself lists available items at your current location.

+give: +give <number> <denomination> to <player>
Gives <number> of your <denomination> coins to <player.>

+income:
+income
+income #job, follow prompts
+income #quit
Using the +income command by itself causes you to receive your normal income. Your income, if you have one, will either be an amount set by a staff member, or an amount based on your current job. Use the #job option to go to a prompt that will walk you through the process of getting a job. Use the #quit option to quit your current job.

+sell: +sell [<object>]
Sells the specified object at your current location. If no object is specified, objects that can be sold at your current location will be listed. Prices offered for specific items may vary within a range set by the staff member who configured the location.

+withdraw: +withdraw <number> <currency>
Withdraws the specified amount from the bank. You must be at a bank location


Combat Commands:

+aim: +aim [at] <target>
Aims a readied missle weapon at <target>. Aiming for 1 turn is necessary to fire at normal levels. Additional turns spent aiming increase your chance to hit by 1 for each turn spent aiming, up to +5. If you fire without aiming, the roll to hit will be made at -3.

+block: +block
Sets your active defense mode to `block'. You must have a readied shield in order to block.

The +check command, typed without arguments, displays a summary of your combat or other events settings, how much damage you have taken, and how fatigued you are. Using the command on another player gives generalized information about what they are doing and their state of health. When used against an object carried by another player, it will state whether or not the object is Argo enabled, and (usually) list its classes. The +check #on command makes a setting that causes you to receive automatic reports when your damage level changes. +Check #off turns this off.

+combat:
+combat #ok

+comabat #no
Change your combat or events setting from `combat ok' to `not combat ok', or vice versa. You must be `combat ok' to use combat commands or the coded effects of skills, spells, and psionic abilites. If you are `combat ok', these may be used against you; if you are not `combat ok', they may not be used against you.

+dodge: +dodge
Sets your active defense mode to `dodge'.

+feint: +feint
Sets your offensive action to feint. You must have a readied melee weapon and be attacking.

+fire: +fire [at] <target>
Fires a readied missle weapon at . If +fire is used while you are aiming, the shot is calculated with any bonus accrued by aiming.

+guard:
+guard <target>
+guard #ally <player>
+guard #!ally <player>
Causes you to guard the designated target. A player you are guarding cannot be attacked with melee weapons, except by players you specify with the #ally option. An exit you are guarding may not be used, except by your allies. An object you are guarding may not be picked up, except by your allies. The #!ally option removes a player from your ally list.

+nodef: +nodef
Sets your defence mode to `none'. You use no active defences; your attack rolls receive a +2 modifier.

+parry: +parry
Sets your active defense mode to `parry'. You must have a readied weapon in order to parry.

+pause: +pause
Pause all events in your current room.

+put on: +put on <armor, spacesuit, etc.>
Puts on <armor>.

+ready: +ready <weapon or shield>
Prepares a weapon or shield for use. You must be holding the weapon or shield.

+rest: +rest
Sets your combat action to `rest': you use no active defenses; you recover an extra point of fatigue each turn.

+stop: +stop
Halts your current events sequence and clears internal props.

+take off: +take off <armor, spacesuit, etc>
Takes off your currently worn armor.

+target: +target <target>
Initiates an events sequence with <target> as your designated target, with your offensive action is set to wait. If you are already in combat, +target changes the target of your attacks and defences.

+throw: +throw [<target>]
Throws your readied weapon at the specified target. You do not have to specify a target if you already have one selected. Your readied weapon must be throwable.

+unguard: +unguard
Causes you to stop guarding whatever you were guarding.

+unpause: +pause
Resume all events in your current room.

+unready: +unready <weapon>
Unreadies a weapon or shield so that another may be readied. Puts a weapon or shield away, out of use.

+unwait: +unwait
Causes your action to go back to whatever it was before you issued a +wait command.

+wait: +wait
Initiates a combat sequence with no designated target and sets your offensive action to wait.

+wimpout: +wimpout <number>
Sets the damage level at which you automatically flee from combat.


Other Role Play Commands

+make:
+make <object;>
Causes you to begin making an instance of the specified object.

+search: +search [<target>]
Searches <target> for hidden or invisible objects. The default target is the room you are currently in.

+shift: +shift <form>
Allows characters with the Shapeshifting advantage to shift between forms.
