1.9.1 Standard Psionic Abilities
MindTwiddle
This ability causes a mild, temporary confusion for the target
(INT is reduced by 1dX, where X is equal to the user's
MindTwiddle skill plus Mental Discipline skill). Intelligence lost in
this way is regained at a rate of 1 point per turn. (Prerequisites:
Psionic Aptitude, Mental Discipline 1; Fatigue Cost: 6)
MindFist
This ability causes a more intense form of the confusion and
disorientation caused by MindTwiddle (target's INT is reduced to zero).
Intelligence lost in this way is regained at a raite of 1 pont per turn.
(Prerequisites: Psionic Aptitute, Mental Discipline 4; MindFist 1;
Fatigue Cost: 12)
MindBlast
The MindBlast ability causes an intense spike of pain in the target's
head, and results in a prolonged period of confusion, disorientation,
and forgetfulness (target's INT is redued to -8).
Intelligence lost in this way is regained at a rate of 1 point per turn.
(Prerequisites: Psionic Aptitude, Mental Discipline 8, MindFist 1;
Fatigue Cost 24)
SoulTwiddle
This ability causes a mild, temporary loss of focus and will for the
target (PRE is reduced by 1dX, where X is equal to the
user's SoulTwiddle skill plus Mental Discipline skill). Presence
lost in this way is regained at a rate of 1 point per turn.
(Prerequisites: Psionic Aptitude, Mental Discipline 1; Fatigue Cost:
6)
SoulFist
This ability causes a more intense form of the loss of focus and will
caused by SoulTwiddle (target's PRE is reduced to zero). Presence
lost in this way is regained at a rate of 1 point per turn.
(Prerequisites: Psionic Aptitute, Mental Discipline 4; SoulFist 1;
Fatigue Cost: 12)
SoulBlast
The SoulBlast ability causes an intense feeling of sadness and loss on
the part of the target, resulting in temporary but total demoralization.
(target's PRE is redued to -8). Presence lost in this
way is regained at a rate of 1 point per turn. (Prerequisites: Psionic
Aptitude, Mental Discipline 8, SoulFist 1; Fatigue Cost: 24)
MindStun
The MindStun ability sends a powerful, uncontrolled surge of psychic
energy through the target's brain (target is stunned for 1dX rounds,
where X is equal to the user's MindStun Ability). (Prerequistes:
Psionic Aptitude, Mental Discipline 4; Fatigue Cost: 8)
MindBomb
The MindBomb Ability causes an powerful surge of psychic energy to well
out from the user's mind, affecting all those around him (all players in
the room except for the user are stunned for 1dX rounds, where X is
equal to the user's MindBomb skill level). (Prerequisites: Psionic
Aptitude, Mental Discipline 6; Fatigue Cost 16)
Obscure
The Obscure ability causes its target to become unnoticable. Strictly
speaking, the target is not invisible (it would, for example, still show
up on cameras and monitors), but its presence simply will not register
for living beings around it, so they will not see it (target is
unnoticable for 1dX turns, where X is equal to the user's Obscure
skill plus Mental Discipline skill. (Prerequisites: Psionic Aptitude,
Mental Discipline 6; Fatigue Cost 16)
Telekinesis
Telekinesis exerts force on an object at a distance. The force is not
finely controlled: its effect is essentially like a sharp, firm shove;
it may not be used to perform fine manipulations like turning a
doorknob or working an instrument control. When cast against a player,
he or she will stumble, perhaps fall down, and perhaps drop objects
being carried or weapons being used (success margin four or less, player
loses current action and target; success margin greater than four,
player drops objects). When cast against an object being carried by a
player, the object will either be dropped or fly into the user's hands
(success margin four or less, object is dropped; success margin greater
than four, object is moved to user). When cast against an object that is
not being held, the object will move to the user. (Prerequisites:
Psionic Aptitude, Mental Discipline 4; Fatigue Cost 8)
MindSense
The MindSense ability lets the user determine the location of a target
entitity. (Prerequisites: Psionic Aptitude, Mental Discipline 2; Fatigue
Cost 4)
Clairsentience
The Clairsentience ability lets the user hear and see all that
transpires in the target's presence. It requires the successful use of
the MindSense skill (rolled automatically). The target has a chance (a
roll against Presence plus Mental Discipline skill) to sense that he or
she is being observed. The effect lasts for 2dX turns, where X is equal
to the user's Clairsentience skill plus Mental Discipline skill.
